EMDR: Eye Movement
Desensitization and Reprocessing

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy technique designed for working with distressing or traumatic memories. The theory behind EMDR is that many psychological difficulties are the result of distressing life experiences which have not been stored in memory properly and are said to be unprocessed or blocked. These traumatic memories may need some help to become processed, and EMDR is one way to do this.

  • Is It Expensive?
There’s no doubt that therapy is costly. We base our rates on specialties provided, expertise, and experience. We try our best to keep rates reasonable. Learning to add therapy to your monthly budget can save relationships, increase life satisfaction, and work productivity. While this is rare, it is still important to know that you are not bound to therapy with us! If you feel you still have challenges, we have talked about the lack of progress in therapy, and we are still not making any progress, we can talk about referrals to another therapist- there are no hard feelings in regard to requests to transfer therapists. Remember: This is about YOU and your life-satisfaction is paramount!
  • How Long are People in Therapy?
Well, this honestly depends. Most people stay in therapy with us for at least one year, but this is not for everyone. Some people simply need to hit the reset button, process a new crises in their life, or just need to be pointed in the right direction. It is truly up to you – We are with you along your journey for however long you need.
  • Do You Accept Insurance?
No we do not accept health insurance but we will help you bill for out-of-network benefits. You will submit all claims to your insurance company for reimbursement.
  • When Does Therapy End?
It is my goal to get people off therapy as soon as possible.
